Delicious Homemade Pesto

Homemade pesto is quick, easy and much healthier than store bought. Toss through pasta, drizzle on pizza or pair with classic bruschetta.

Instead of garlic bread, try spreading your pesto on to a crusty loaf and toast – or even stir the pesto into bread dough for a wonderfully fragrant roll.

Ingredients and Method


  • 3 good handfuls of Fresh Basil, picked and chopped
  • 1 handful Pine nuts, lightly toasted
  • 1 good handful Parmesan, freshly grated
  • 1 Garlic Clove, chopped
  • Sea Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Olive Oil


  1. Grind the garlic with a pinch of salt and the basil leaves in a pestle and mortar.
  2. Next add half the parmesan – stir gently and add olive oil until you get an oozy consistency.
  3. Season to taste and add the remaining cheese. Easy and delicious!
